Missouri State has recently completed their Spring 2013 schedule, which includes 12 games, 2 of which are against teams that finished 2012 ranked in the MCLA Top 25 Poll.
The Bears kick off their regular season with a road trip to Manhattan, Kansas where they will take on Kansas State University on February 9 and the University of Kansas on February 10. The last time Missouri State played Kansas State in the regular season was in 2009; a game that Missouri State won 13-3. The Bears lost to Kansas in 2012 to the tune of 15-7. The Bears have won 3 of the last 5 meetings between the two schools.
The following weekend, Missouri State travels to St. Louis for a neutral site game with the University of Wisconsin, the first ever meeting of the two schools.
February 23rd and 24th Missouri State will again travel to St. Louis to play Emory University and St. Johns (MN) respectively. St. Johns ended 2012 ranked 6th Nationally and made it to the quarterfinals of the MCLA National Tournament.
The Bears will have a long break in March after playing the University of Missouri on March 1st and Illinois State on March 2nd. Those games will both be in Columbia, Missouri.
Missouri State will play Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference foe Missouri Baptist on April 5th in St. Louis. Missouri Baptist was the 2011 GRLC Champion and made it to the MCLA National Championships that same year. Missouri State is 2-3 all-time against their in-state rivals.
The weekend of April 12-14 will see Missouri State host St. Louis University (April 12th) and Harding University (April 14th). It will be the home opener for the Bears and will also be Missouri State’s first two GRLC South Sub-Division games.
Missouri State finishes its regular season with two more GRLC South games. On April 18, The Bears host Lindenwood University – Belleville in Springfield. The game will be the first between Missouri State and the new Lindenwood – Belleville program. April 28th will be the last regular season game for the Bears when the play Washington University (MO) in St. Louis.
The Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference Championship Tournament will be the weekend of May 3-5.
